Awards Program to Offer CE on Court System

The 2018 Regional EMS and NSPA Preparedness Awards Program on May 31 will include a fantastic presentation entitled "An Introduction to the Court System" presented by Gillian Deegan, Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney for Botetourt County.

Have you ever been to court for one of your calls? How well would you do against a defense attorney? Take the stand and see for yourself at this year’s annual EMS banquet and education program. This is an education of a life time as the Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney, Gillian (Jill) Deegan introduces you to the court system in an all audience interactive session.

Prior to coming to Botetourt, Jill had her own law practice in Salem, Va. where she concentrated on criminal defense and family law. She served as a Probation and Parole Officer in the 23rd Circuit before attending law school. She also worked as a Police Officer for the Roanoke County Police Department and a Deputy Sheriff for the Roanoke County Sheriff’s Office. In addition, she served in the United States Army Reserve.

You will receive 2.5 hours of continuing education. The CE presentation begins at 3:00pm, and the awards presentations and reception begin at 5:30.

The Jefferson Center, Fitzpatrick Hall - 541 Luck Avenue, Roanoke. Parking is available.
